COLD WORK STEEL S-1

S1 is an alloy shock-resisting tool steel for both hot and cold work applications. The tungsten substance of this tool steel grade gives weariness resistance, the chromium content gives profundity of hardness and resistance to abrasion. S1 tool steel is reasonable for cool work devices subject heavy shock and uneven loading; for instance, press devices utilized for punching heavy gauge material, shear blades, nut blanking tools, perforating and piercing punches. Shock-resisting tool steels are assigned as gathering S steels as indicated by the AISI classification system. S1, S2, S5, S6, and S7 are the types of shock-resisting steels. The hardenability of gathering S steels can be controlled by changing their creation instead of adjusting the melting procedures and grain size.
